Tom Morello is Now Making Comics for Dark Horse

Tom Morello, guitarist of Rage Against the Machine and formerly of Audioslave, is now making comics for Dark Horse.

Orchid is the name of the series, and each issue will come with composed music from Morello. The plot sounds promising and also crazy, but I'll let Tom explain it on the video below.

Here's the interview G4's Fresh Ink Online personality Blair Butler did with Tom (starts at the 5:12 mark) at Comic Con 2011.

8-Bit Pink Floyd "Money"

I ran into this video checking out the Tosh.0 blog and I just had to share this great rendition of Pink Floyd's "Money" from their album The Dark Side of the Moon. This is from the Sakanakao youtube channel, where you can also find other Pink Floyd songs made into 8 bit chip tune fashion. This is by far my favorite. The cash register sound effect and the baseline is just so awesomely awesome!

Green Lantern 2 to be "Edgier" and "Darker," Flash Script is "Solid," and JLA Movie?

HeroComplex recently spoke to Warner Bros. film group President Jeff Robinov who says that if they were to move forward on a sequel to Green Lantern, then "we need to make it a little edgier and darker with more emphasis on action... And we have to find a way to balance the time the movie spends in space versus on Earth." Robinov realizes that even though the movie isn't doing that well, he knows that the GL movie had a decent enough opening which showed that there was an audience for perhaps a sequel. An outline for the sequel is said to be ready and was worked on by the scribes of the first movie: Berlanti, Green, and Guggenheim.
Robinov also went on to say that there is a script out for a Flash movie and that it is a "solid script." As, for a live action Justice League movie, Robinov remains "interested."

Sucker Punch Joins SCE World Wide Studios

Sucker Punch, the makers of inFamous and the Sly Cooper series, has just joined Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios. I'm guessing the number of sales for their new game inFamous 2 are high. Keep up the good work Sucker Punch team!!!

inFamous and Sly Cooper have always been exclusive intellectual properties for the Sony Consoles since day one of their releases. I bet Sony does not want Sucker Punch to have wandering eyes.

I can only speculate if Naughty Dog-- the makers of the blockbuster Uncharted Series-- also joins SCE. As of now, Nathan Drake and his buddies live exclusively on the PS3.

Marvel & USA Today Spoil Big Utimate Spider-Man Reveal

Yeah. I understand that Marvel is trying to promote their comics and after the recent death of Ultimate Peter Parker at the hands of Ultimate Green Goblin (, Marvel decided it needed a new Spider-Man. This Wednesday's release of Ultimate Fallout #4 was suppose to have the big reveal on who the new wall-crawler is in the Ultimate Universe. Instead, last night USA Today published an interview with long-time Ultimate Spider-Man writer Brian Michael Bendis in which they reveal that the new Spider-Man is... NOPE! I'm not spoiling it for you. But if you are curious and cannot wait to pick up your own copy of UF4 tomorrow from your local comic book store, then click here.

Was The New ThunderCats Good?

Yup! Damn Good!

Honestly I was hoping against hope this wouldn't be one of those cases that you get hyped up off of trailers, and the trailers turn out to be the best part of the show. Saying I was pleasantly surprised would be an understatement. From this past Friday on I will be looking forward to catching ThunderCats on Cartoon Network. In fact, I have set up a series recording on my DVR, just in case I come home from work late.

There are some elements of the characters and story changes I was leery about going in, but it seems that the writers of the new series put a lot of thought into this. Lion-O and Tygra's sibling rivalry adds a nice twist to their relationship. Cheetara adds a third corner to a blossoming love triangle. And Wily Kit and Wily Kat add a lot of charm, playfulness and intrigue. I am anxious to see how they will eventually be a part of the team.

I don't want to get too spoilerish if you haven't seen the first episode yet but I will say that the addition of Panthro, Claudus and Grune the Destroyer to the first episode was perfect.
While I tuned into the new series with feelings of nostalgia, I will continue to tune in with feeling of excitement and great hope of where this new reboot of the ThunderCats story will lead.
