Robocop Remake is in the Works

While promoting his new movie Elite Squad 2: The Enemy Within, director Jose Padilha spoke to Brazilian TV Globo 1 and talked a little bit about the status of his Robocop remake.  Here's what Padilha had to say:

Zombin Laden

So I was searching the net for things to post here and ran into this.  I think it's done very well and does a bang up job conveying that "grindhouse" look and feel.  Isn't Coca Cola amazing?

Oh My!

Since George Takei has been sitting in on The Howard Stern Show this week as the show's official announcer, I'd like to show this video of George Takei throwing his hat in for the Broadway musical Spider-Man Turn Off the Dark.  Enjoy and Baba Booey to all!

Gamers Who Purchased Dark Souls Early are in for a Huge Surprise!

Anyone who bought Dark Souls earlier than anyone else will get punished by From Software by invading the players' game world as a maxed out super soldier of death and destruction.
Like Demon's Souls, Dark Souls comes packed with a mechanic that allows players to invade other's worlds. From Software are using this feature to send out maxed-out characters into the early-adopters games and systemically killing them off.
This is genius!

DC Universe Online Goes Free To Play

Playstation 3 and PC owners are now able to download and play DC Universe for free in late October. Players who only get the free option have a limited amount of character customization but if you get the subscription service you will be able to get access to every feature in the game. Here's the breakdown:

Batman: Year One 1st Clip

Here's the first official clip released to promote the upcoming release of WB's next animated movie Batman: Year One.  Those who have read the book will easily recall the following scene:

Boogie Casting: Batman

With The Dark Knight Rises being Christopher Nolan's last go around in the Batman Universe, what is going to happen to the franchise?  Christian Bale has pretty much said that he won't be returning as the Dark Knight without Nolan.  So where does that leave Batman?  A reboot?  A continuation with all new actors in the universe that Nolan has already created?  As much as I would like to see Nolan's Batman continue on film, WB has pretty much said that they would be rebooting the franchise
With that in mind, who would be the next actor to portray Batman/Bruce Wayne in the reboot?

Resident Evil 4 on PS3 and Xbox 360

Resident Evil 4 was just recently released for the Playstation Network and Xbox Live and I've been watching several videos on youtube and noticed that Capcom released the inferior Playstation 2 version instead of the Gamecube/Wii version which is far superior. The PS2 version suffers from bad textures, low res video quality, the audio is muffled, and even awful frame rate drops. These weren't even fixed for the PS3/360 release of the game. I've seen the Gamecube version being emulated on the PC and it looks infinitely times better than the PS3/360 version.

Check out the videos of each version below.

So Is Dead Space 3 Confirmed?

Looks like someone at IGN spotted the logo for Dead Space 3 in an Israeli news show during their tour at EA's Redwood Shores. Could this mean that a third game is the works?

If this turns out to be true, I hope that they completely remove the multiplayer mode. It was a waste of time and resources that could have been better spent in making Dead Space 2's single player mode better.

Netflix Will Technically No Longer Mail Out DVDs...

So I got an email from Netflix telling me that they messed up with their recent changes and how they believe they will remedy this. It's simple: they will split their services. Netfix will continue their streaming services but will not longer send out DVD's and Bluray's. In a couple of weeks, a new company called Qwikster will handle all other media distribution and will also include PS3 and Xbox 360 games to their services.

There is way too much info in this email but here is a link to take you to their blog which has the exact information. Please read on.

I also added a video explanation of the upcoming changes by Netflix CEO Reed Hastings.

Salivating Item of the Day

When I first heard about this movie I thought that would be as craptastic as Brett Ratner's (Rush Hour, Red Dragon) X-Men: The Last StandX-Men: First Class was rushed through production quickly, even though the script wasn't quite ready.  Actors were being hired during the filming of the movie or just before it started filming.  Then there was the news that the movie would take place in the groovy 60's.  Then there was the hiring of Layer Cake director Matthew Vaughn to helm the project when Bryan Singer (X-Men, X2: X-Men United, Superman Returns) stepped down to just produce the film.
