WB apparently has a short list of directors they want to helm the next
Twilight Zone movie. At the top of that list is Christopher Nolan (
The Dark Knight,
Inception). The other two on that short list are Michael Bay (
Tranformers,
Bad Boys) and Alfanso Cuaron (
Children of Men,
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban). There is also a fourth person in the mix to direct the movie. It's none other than Rupert Wyatt who directed this years blockbuster
Rise of the Planet of the Apes. The script for the new Twilight Zone movie is said to be a self contained story written by Jason Rothenberg (
Body Politic).
The last Twilight Zone movie released in 1983 and was made up of for segments, each directed by A list directors Steven Spielberg (
E.T. The Extra Terrestrial,
Raiders of the Lost Ark), John Landis (
Animal House,
Trading Places), Joe Dante (
Gremlins,
Innerspace), and George Miller (
Mad Max,
Happy Feet).
We'll just have to wait and see who WB chooses to direct The Twilight Zone.
