Y: The Last Man Movie Not Dead!
Y: The Last Man is a 60 issue comic book story created by Brian K. Vaughn and Pia Guerra that tells the story of a young man named Yorick Brown who, along with his pet capuchin monkey Ampersand, become the sole male survivors of a mysterious plague that wipes out the entire male population. Yorick and Ampersand then embark on a journey to find his girlfriend Beth and figure out why he and Ampersand are the only Y chromosomed survivors.
I personally loved Vaughn and Guerra's epic story and am glad to hear that it will be making its way to the big screen. But this isn't a story that can be told in just one movie. This is a pretty epic story that needs at least two movies to be told properly. I can't wait to start seeing what the cast is going to look like (and NO to SHIA LABEOUF as Yorick Brown!).
Avatar: The Legend Of Korra is Almost Here!
Regardless of my reservations, I will be sitting in front of my TV on April 14th!

Jet Set Radio HD is the Same as the Original Dreamcast Version... Mostly

Jet Set Radio HD will feature almost everything from the original Dreamcast release with a few changes: You can now control the camera with the right stick, JSR HD runs at 60 FPS (YES!), and most of the music tracks from the original game will return. Songs like Rob Zombie's "Dragula" and Jurassic 5's "Improvise" will not return in this version, most likely because of licensing issues.

It sucks that they had to remove some of the music from the original game.
The Turtles Set to Return X-Mas 2013
Sounds good! I hope the live action CGI works out well.

Shinji Mikami Talks About Tango and Their New Game

- The game will be expected to release on 2013.
- Tango currently has 65 employees and may get up to 100.
- Mikami expects it to be the largest staff he has ever worked with on a game.
- He would like to have two teams eventually. A smaller team to work on smaller/more expiremental projects to help train staff.
- They are using an external engine that has been heavily modified to the point that its close to being an internal engine.
- Mikami would like his first game to sell 500K-1 million copies in Japan. For reference, only ten PS3 titles have ever sold over 500K copies in Japan, and only one has sold over a million.
Oh man, he's not directing the game?! He's just an exectuive producer. Oh well, anything this man touches will still be the best game ever.
Epic VP: "I'd Be Shocked if Wii U Doesn't Do Well"

Epic VP Mark Rein will be shocked if the Wii U isn't a hit for Nintendo when it launches later this year.Source: Eurogamer
Speaking to Eurogamer at GDC in San Francisco last week, Rein argued that parents are ready to upgrade their kid's Wii to Nintendo's new system.
"I like the Wii U. I think E3 will be a big eye-opener for people," he predicted.
"I played Batman: Arkham City on the Wii U and they are doing some really cool stuff with the controller.
"Do you remember the Zelda demo they had on it? Would you not buy a Wii U just to play that? Of course you would. That's what Nintendo is all about. Their hardware is the software delivery service for their great content. That Zelda demo was gorgeous and we can do even more than that with Unreal Engine 3. I think it will do great."
Rein added that Nintendo's brand recognition and beloved IP should see it fly off shelves, though he suggested that it might have been quicker off the mark with getting the machine to stores.
"It's a great brand that a lot of parents really trust and they're probably ready to buy their kids an HD Wii that does that much more than just being an HD Wii.
"I'd love it if they'd done it last year, but I'm excited for them to do it this year. I'd be shocked if it doesn't do well.
"Did you play that Battle Mii game? Two players would play with a Wii Remote and Nunchuk and one would play with the Wii U controller?
"I would buy a Wii U to play that game in a heartbeat. And I hope people make those kind of games with our technology. I think we've yet to really see what the Wii U can do and I think at E3 this year they're going to shock us."
Earlier this year Nintendo president Satoru Iwata suggested that, more than ever, the company will be looking to partner with third parties when developing high-spec core games that fall outside of its traditional comfort zone.
Might Epic step up to the plate with a new IP for the system, a la Gears of War on the Xbox 360?
"If I had 10 development teams I'd make a game for every single platform and make that the special game for that platform," replied Rein.
"If you're the special game on that platform you do really, really well. Gears was one of the special ones on Xbox 360. Infinity Blade is a special game on the iPhone and iPad. Shadow Complex was a special game on Xbox Live Arcade.
"But we don't have 10 development teams so it's just a matter of picking and choosing what we do and doing the best thing we can for the idea that we have."
Epic currently has two titles in development: Infinity Blade: Dungeons for iOS and Fortnite for as-yet unconfirmed platforms.
Sounds like some people have already played a couple of games on the Wii U at the Game Developers Conference. The Unreal Engine 4 is not mentioned in this article. They're obviously not allowed to talk about it yet.
Sonic 4 Team Has No Plans for Future Episodes

"We are looking forward to hearing the feedback from the users for Episode 2, but we are currently not planning to release another episode," he told Digital Spy.Long time Sonic fans were disappointed on how Sonic 4: Episode 1 was made. Episode 2 was completely developed from scratch, using an all new graphics and physics engine and hopefully the levels are better designed, completely original and not recycled from older games.
Iizuka added: "We just want to see how the users accept this episode."

Super Mario Galaxy 2 Could Have Featured Cameos From Other Nintendo Franchises

Koichi Hayashida, Super Mario Galaxy 2 director, had an idea of having characters from other Nintendo franchises appear in Super Mario Galaxy 2 but the idea was shot down by Shigeru Miyamoto.
"One of the early proposals that we discussed for Super Mario Galaxy 2 was the possibility of including characters from other [Nintendo] franchises," Hayashida explained through his translator. "For example, you might have Donkey Kong or Pikmin show up.""We presented this to Mr. Miyamoto, but he came down pretty hard, saying that there has to be a functional reason to include characters of a certain type in a game. He went to specify precisely why the Pikmin wouldn't work."
"In the Pikmin games, you'll notice that all the Pikmin are very thin — tall and narrow for their frame," Hayashida explained. "Mario enemies tend to be on the short and squat side and there's a functional reason for that. They're easier to stomp on. They're lower so you can get above them and broader so you can land on them. In that sense, Pikmin are just not well suited for the Mario universe."
Miyamoto's dismissal forced the Mario Galaxy 2 team to "focus on the functional again."
I agree with Miyamoto's decision. I don't want them to shoe-horn cameos for the sake of having cameos. It is not a good idea.

Spring Season Anime Preview: Eureka Seven AO
Coming soon to Japan (and therefore the internet) is Eureka Seven AO. This series is a sequel to the original Eureka Seven as opposed to the lukewarmly-received movie. It stars the child of former protagonists Renton and Eureka, yet there is no knowledge of either character returning. Thus far no website has picked up streaming rights but I'd put money that Crunchyroll will grab it soon. The sky surfing robots return this April.

Kiefer Sutherland Offered the Role of Robin in Batman '89?! It's True!
I'd just finished Stand By Me and Young Guns about the time that Warner Bros. were making the first Batman film with Michael Keaton, and I got a call which asked me if I would be interested in playing Robin," Sutherland said in an interviewing promoting his new Fox series. "I was like: 'As in Robin with tights? No!' I didn't realise they were going to make the coolest movie ever! They didn't have a Robin in the end, but I was only 19, so my agent could have helped me out a bit on that one.
We know that Kiefer Sutherland was one of the biggest stars of the 80s with roles in movies like The Lost Boys, Young Guns and Stand By Me, so the thought of having him in a big time movie like Batman is no surprise. But let's just be glad that things stayed the way they did and Robin The Boy Wonder was excluded from the movie. A bleach blonde mullet headed Robin in green tights might not have been the best move. So thanks for saying "No" Kiefer-- although it really would have been interesting to have seen.
