The Last Story is Having a Limited Run in North America

In an interview with IGN, Ken Berry from XSEED Games, the North American publisher for The Last Story, said that there will only be limited amount of copies shipped to North America.
IGN: Do you anticipate a limited run for the game? If demand is present, will you consider manufacturing another run of the game?

Yes, we do anticipate a limited run for the game as we already have a number in mind of how many units we can expect to sell of this title, and all our pre-production efforts will be geared towards being able to manufacture a final number somewhat close to our initial estimated number. It's too early to start thinking of doing additional runs, but as a general policy we haven't been very active on doing reprints of our other titles so far.
The Last Story is coming out on June 19th exclusively for the Nintendo Wii.

Skullgirls Gets a Release Date, Demo Announced, and an Official Soundtrack

Ravidrath, from Reverge Labs, announced that Skullgirls will be coming out on April 11th on XBLA. The PSN version is expected to release on the 10th but the guys on Reverge Labs cannot officially confirm this because of Sony's submission system. It will cost $14.99 on PSN and 1200 MSP on XBLA. There will also be a demo which will include Filia and Cerebella as the only two playable characters, a small taste of the arcade mode, local multiplayer, training mode, and 4 tutorials. That's a lot of content for a demo! And, last but not least, about two weeks after the game's release, the Skullgirls Official Soundtrack will be available on both iTunes and Amazon. I can't wait to get my hands on the game.

Thanks for letting us know, Ravidrath!

New Playstation 4 Rumors

A ton of rumors for the next Playstation console has surfaced around the web.
  • The new console is codenamed "Orbis."
  • It will completely ditch the cell processor and will be replaced by AMD x64 CPU and AMD Southern Islands GPU, but this could change between now and the release of the "Orbis."
  • It will be out at the end of 2013.
  • "Orbis" will not offer backwards compatibility for any existing PS3 games.
  • It will not play any used games. New games will be locked to a single account. You have to be connected to the internet to authenticate a new game before you can start playing them.
With the lack of backwards compatibility, I have already lost interest in "Orbis." I still like to go back and play some of my old games. The part about the inability to play used games also worries me. This means I can't borrow any games from other people at all. And what about the people who can't connect to the internet? How will they be able to play any new games? If this how next gen is going to be like then I'll just skip them entirely. What do you guys think of these rumors?

Beware the Batman Coming This Year to Cartoon Network

Following in the CGI footsteps of Green Lantern: The Animated Series comes the next animated adventures of Gotham's Caped Crusader Beware the Batman. BtB will be the first Batman animated series that will be full on CGI and will premiere later this year. You can read the press release below courtesy of Super Hero Hype!:

A cool, new take on the classic Dark Knight franchise, Beware the Batman incorporates Batman’s core characters with a rogues gallery of new villains not previously seen in animated form. Along with backup from ex-secret agent Alfred and lethal swordstress Katana, the Dark Knight faces the twisted machinations of Gotham City’s criminal underworld led by the likes of Anarky, Professor Pyg, Mister Toad and Magpie. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, this action-packed detective thriller deftly redefines what we have come to know as a “Batman show.” Featuring cutting-edge CGI visuals to match the intricate twists and turns of the narrative, Batman steps out of the shadows and into the spotlight for an entirely new generation of fans. With WBA’s Sam Register executive producing, and Batman Beyond’s Glen Murakami and Scooby-Doo! Battlefield 3 Wake Island Updates (03-27-12)

So here is the skinny of what these recent updates (03-27) will change to the online BF3 experience.  But first I should remind all of you BF3 soldiers that you must re-install the Back to Karkand DLC.  The add-on contents had some minor bugs when it first released a couple weeks ago but were patched just recently (03-13).  All it takes is a simple re-download of the DLC.  I know it's a big hassle but, c'mon consider this like it's a very watered down nerdy version of bootcamp.

I've done this procedure a couple of times before with other games as well because I had to change up HD's on my PS3 (I have to add how dope it is by they way that you can buy a 60 gb system, go out and buy a 500gb HD and swap it out... I love my PS3!).  But here is a step by step process explained by the EA help Center for both the PS3 and Xbox:

How to uninstall and re-download Back to Karkand on Xbox 360:
  1. From the Settings tab, select System.
  2. Select Storage, then select your hard drive.
  3. Select Games and Apps.
  4. Locate Battlefield 3 and press Y.
  5. Delete everything except PROFILE SAVE DATA.
  6. Restart your console, then launch Battlefield 3. The update will contain Back to Karkand.
How to uninstall and re-download Back to Karkand on PS3:
  1. From the Game section, select Game Data Utility.
  2. Highlight Battlefield 3 and press Δ.
  3. Select delete.
  4. Restart your console, then launch Battlefield 3. The update will contain Back to Karkand.

Ok so now that you have that done, make sure you go back and re-download your Online pass, and any other purchased or free add-ons from the Playstation store or Xbox Live.

For the most part these patches were not so drastic but very useful.  For example, on the map found in the bottom left hand corner will now show new vehicle icons, and new border guides (no man's land) to help you navigate more efficiently.  That goes the same for the spawn load out screen; new icons show a clear representation of what you are about to spawn into such as a base, tank, helicopter, or jet.  Also the sound effect when you get hit with an RPG while in a tank now sounds different but brutal.  The contact hit sound effect makes you believe that RPG actually rattled something loose in that poor vehicle.

A couple of changes were made to the Wake Island map as well, or should I say "alternative flag layouts in conquest."  Which is great because one map can be considered as two maps due to its variety in base objectives layout positions.  The key work here is Replay-ability!

Also, the PS3 community is now able to rent a server from EA for one or 90 days of solid controlled mayhem.  Great for intimate Tournaments.

But I know I'm missing a lot of details so please hit the links below to read about all the stuff that I did not mention.

Total Recall is an action thriller about reality and memory, inspired anew by the famous short story "We Can Remember It For You Wholesale" by Philip K. Dick. Welcome to Rekall, the company that can turn your dreams into real memories. For a factory worker named Douglas Quaid (Colin Farrell), even though he's got a beautiful wife (Kate Beckinsale) whom he loves, the mind-trip sounds like the perfect vacation from his frustrating life - real memories of life as a super-spy might be just what he needs. But when the procedure goes horribly wrong, Quaid becomes a hunted man. Finding himself on the run from the police – controlled by Chancellor Cohaagen (Bryan Cranston) – there is no one Quaid can trust, except possibly a rebel fighter (Jessica Biel) working for the head of the underground resistance (Bill Nighy). The line between fantasy and reality gets blurred and the fate of his world hangs in the balance as Quaid discovers his true identity, his true love, and his true fate. The film is directed by Len Wiseman. The screenplay is by Kurt Wimmer and Mark Bomback and the screen story is by Ronald Shusett & Dan O'Bannon and Jon Povill. The producers are Neal H. Moritz and Toby Jaffe.
