Final Trailer for The Dark Knight Rises to Play with Marvel's The Avengers

Yup.  The title pretty much says it.  WB will be riding the Marvel's The Avengers movie frenzy to help promote The Dark Knight Rises (as if it needs any help at all!).  I honestly can't wait to see Marvel's The Avengers but I am really pumped up about seeing how Christopher Nolan plans on ending the legend of Batman.

Either way, have another look the last trailer of The Dark Knight Rises below.

Marvel's The Avengers hits theaters May 4th.

Guy Pearce in Talks to Join the Cast of Iron Man 3

Earlier this month we got word that Sir Ben Kingsley was in final talks to join the Shane Black directed Iron Man 3.  Now comes word courtesy of Variety that Lock-Out, Memento star of the upcoming Prometheus film Guy Pearce is also in final talks to join the IM3 as geneticist Aldrich Killian.

Plot will borrow elements from Warren Ellis' six-issue "Iron Man: Extremis" comicbooks, that also heavily influenced the first "Iron Man" pic, and focuses heavily on the spread of a virus through nanotechnology.

In the books, Killian co-created the Extremis technology that Iron Man adopts after Killian sells it to terrorists.

With Pearce joining the likes of Robert Downey Jr., Sir Ben Kingsley, Don Cheadle and Gwyneth Paltrow, Iron Man 3 is set to be a pretty amazing movie with a lot of great talent.

Iron Man 3 is scheduled to be released May 3, 2013.

Dragon's Crown Is Still Coming But at a Later Date

-video courtesy of UTV Ignition... or is it Atlus?

UTV Ignition will no longer publish Dragon's Crown (I'm guessing because they probably closed down). Atlus has announced that they will be publishing and help the developer finish the game. Atlus is a great company, aren't they? Dragon's Crown will be coming to the Playstation 3 and Playstation Vita on Spring 2013. Just in case if you forgot, Dragon's Crown is a multiplayer beat-em-up developed by Vanillaware best known for making high quality RPG's such as GrimmGrimoire and Odin Sphere.

God of War: Ascension Details

  • Todd Pappy is the director for God of War: Ascension.
  • It's going to be a single player game and its coming out Spring 2013.
  • Ascension is going to be a prequel to the original trilogy.

All I hope is that the new director does a better job at directing than Stig Asmussen (GoW3). God of War 3 is easily my least favorite game in the series. Also, what else do we need to know about Kratos' past?

Soul Sacrifice Teaser Site Launches

Not to be confused with FromSoftware's godlike Souls series, this is a new Vita title from Sony Computer Entertainment Japan. It doesn't say who's developing Soul Sacrifice. Here is the teaser site. All they have announced so far is that it's going to focus on a fantasy world, a story about magicians and co-op. Expect a full reveal on May 10th.

Amazon Leaks God of War: Ascension

There is suppose to be an official announcement tomorrow but someone at Amazon decided to reveal the game a lot earlier than Sony. They're even taking pre-orders too. And a teaser trailer that... tells us nothing about the game.

Beware The Batman!

Can cartoons get any cooler? Yes. Yes they can. Beware! Batman is coming!

Jeez, I know that if you are a cartoon aficionado (as I am) you are in heaven!  ThunderCats, Green Lantern, Avengers, The Legend of Korra, Young Justice, Tron: Uprising, Clone Wars... there are some really cool cartoons on right now.  I'm not even mentioning the DC straight to Blu-ray flicks either.  These are the days!

Teaser Poster for Disney's "Wreck-It Ralph"

Courtesy of MSN:

"Wreck-It Ralph" tells the story of a 9-foot tall, 643-pound video game villain (voiced by John C. Reilly) who spends his days destroying buildings in a "Rampage" style game. His nemesis is the games' titular hero, "Fix-It Felix" (Jack McBrayer), who cleans up Ralph's destruction and gets the glory. Frustrated by decades of playing the villain, Ralph ventures out into the arcade's other games to show that he can be a hero too.

In addition to Reilly and McBrayer, the film will feature the voices of Jane Lynch as a sergeant in a Halo-like first-person shooter and Sarah Silverman as a race car driver from a candy-themed cart racing game. We can also expect a parade of cameos from classic video game characters (including Bowser from "Super Mario Bros." and a ghost from "Pac-Man"). "Futurama" vet Rich Moore directs the film, out in theaters Nov. 2nd.

I don't know about you, but count me all sorts of in on this movie!  Sounds like a very cool premise!  And we will also be getting video game cameos?!  What do you guys think?

New Dark Souls: Prepare to Die PC Edition Details

Hidetaka Miyazaki, from FromSoftware, already revealed some new information about the new content, the PC hardware improvements, and about Games For Windows Live. There will be 3 new areas along with new bosses that will be accessed through portals much like how the painting in Anor Londo transported the player to go to a completely new level in the original game. These portals will not just take you to these new levels but will also let you travel back in time to meet Artorias the Abysswalker (see picture above) and you can even play as him. Artorias was mentioned in the original game several times but you never get to meet him or find out what exactly happened to him.

Viral Stuff: Hello David. What Can You DO David?

You can definitely tell this is a Ridley Scott flick. It has that uncomfortable feeling to it that his sci-fi flicks have.

More Wii U News - Mario 4! New Pikmin!

Via IGN:
Nintendo has confirmed that both Pikmin and Mario will make appearances at E3 2012 on Wii U.

Nintendo released the following statement regarding Pikmin:

"In a recent interview, Mr. Miyamoto confirmed that a new Pikmin game will be shown at the E3 Expo in June. He believes that anyone who has played Pikmin games in the past will enjoy playing."

Separately, Nintendo said the following about Mario:

"In a recent interview, Mr. Miyamoto confirmed that a new Super Mario Bros. game for the Wii U system will be shown at this year's E3 Expo. This is based on the Mario experience that was demonstrated at last year's E3 Expo. We'll have more to announce about our plans for the E3 Expo at a later date.

Can't say I am surprised on the new Mario announcement-- every Nintendo system has one. Pikmin had been rumored for a while now. Still, it's nice to know they will be on display at E3.  Rumors are just rumors as always, but if they are to be believed, we will be seeing a new incarnation of F-Zero, & Smash Bros to go along with the newly announced Pikmin and Mario games.  Hopefully Nintendo has learned from the past and will come out with guns blazing and they will be actual playable games.  Please, oh please let there be a new Star Fox on the horizon!

Anarchy Reigns Multiplayer Mode Trailer

A video showcasing the deathmatch, cage match, and the 16 player battle royal mode. The video doesn't show the action in a good way. Its just shows a bunch of random short clips with bad camera cuts for each mode.

Tron Uprising Trailer!

If the writing is as good as the art and design of this trailer, we might be in store for something legit! The design of the characters' faces reminds me a bit of Aeon Flux.

PSN Scheduled Maintenance on Monday (April 16th)

As I write this, the PSN will be down for maintenance and will be offline for an estimated time of 13 hours.  It was said to start at 6:00am PDT and end around 7:00pm PDT.  I'm just glad that I'm at work in this window of no online connectivity.

Here are some behind the scenes footage of the upcoming Marvel's The Avengers movie courtesy of Trailer Addict:

Sin City 2 is a Go!

Dimension Films has announced that Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller are set to return to Sin City!  The title of the movie is Sin City: A Dame to Kill For and will begin casting some time this week (although most of the original cast is set to return).  Filming is set to begin this summer in Austin, Texas.  You can read Dimension Films official press release below:

AUSTIN, TX (12 April 2012) — Filmmakers Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller, along with producer Alexander Rodnyansky, have announced that production will commence on the highly anticipated sequel to 2005’s Sin City, entitled Sin City: A Dame To Kill For. The film will be produced by AR Films and Quick Draw Productions, financed through AR Films U.S and released domestically by Dimension Films.

“The first question I am always asked is “When will you make another Sin City? ,” said Rodriquez. “I have wanted to re-team with Frank Miller and return to the world he created since the day we wrapped the original, but have felt a duty to the fans to wait until we had something truly exceptional that would meet and exceed what have become epic expectations. A Dame To Kill For will certainly be worth the wait.”
